What the Snow Tells You was composed for my trio, the ELM trio, in the winter of 2023-2024. Living in Wisconsin, winter is an essential part of my being, physically, mentally, and spiritually, and I love it with my whole heart. This piece is a representation of an archetypal cycle that I go through every winter, one that I can’t really explain in words and thus I attempted to explain it through music.
